Our Commitment to the Reader

Every piece of content published on ForgeTheFlow.com exists to serve one person: the reader. Not search engines. Not advertisers. Not affiliate partners. The reader.

These Editorial Standards explain how we create content, how we ensure its accuracy, how we handle AI assistance, and what principles guide every publishing decision we make.

Who Creates Content on This Site

All content on ForgeTheFlow.com is created or directly overseen by Carlos Grider — former U.S. Marine, military fitness instructor, CrossFit Level 1 trainer, certified personal trainer, and adventure athlete with over a decade of practical minimalist fitness experience across 65+ countries.

Carlos brings direct, lived experience, formal training and certification, and peer reviewed scientific research into every topic covered on this site. The fitness philosophy behind Forge the Flow was not developed theoretically — it was developed and tested in the field, across real environments, over many years. That experiential foundation is the basis for the editorial voice and perspective of this site.

Our Content Creation Process

Research first. Before any content is written, we research the topic thoroughly — reviewing current exercise science literature focusing on peer reviewed research in respected universities and from respected fitness and academic insititutions, established coaching methodologies, and practical application in real training environments. We do not publish content on topics we have not personally engaged with or cannot speak to from genuine experience, responsibly and professionally.

Experience informs everything. The training methods, program structures, and fitness philosophies covered on this site are drawn from Carlos’s direct experience as a military athlete, adventure sports practitioner, and fitness professional. Where relevant, we note the specific context in which methods were developed or tested.

Sources are cited. Where content references specific research, statistics, or scientific claims, we link to or cite the original source. We prioritize peer-reviewed research, established sports science institutions, and recognized authorities in exercise physiology and human performance.

Content is reviewed before publication. Every piece of content is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with our editorial standards before it goes live. Content that does not meet our standards is revised or not published.

Our Use of Artificial Intelligence

We are transparent about our use of AI in content creation because we believe you deserve to know.

ForgeTheFlow.com uses AI tools as part of our research aggregation and content development process. At times, AI used strategically and sparingly to assist with gathering research, structuring articles, and editing/refining content. However, all AI assisted content is:

  • Directly informed by Carlos’s personal experience, training methodology, and expertise
  • Reviewed, edited, and approved by Carlos before publication
  • Fact-checked for validity against reliable sources
  • Revised to ensure accuracy and alignment with the Forge the Flow philosophy

AI is a tool within a larger process at ForgeTheFlow.com, not an authority. The knowledge, experience, and editorial judgment behind every piece of content on this site belongs to a real human being with real credentials as a fitness professional and real, lived experience. We do not publish AI output unchecked, and we do not use AI to fabricate expertise we do not possess.

Accuracy & Updates

Fitness research evolves. Best practices change. What was considered optimal training five years ago may have been refined or superseded by newer evidence.

We are committed to keeping our content current. When significant new research or updated guidance affects content we have published, we update that content and note the revision date. If you believe any content on this site contains an error or outdated information, please contact us and we will investigate promptly.

Affiliate & Sponsored Content

Our editorial opinions are not for sale. Products and services featured or recommended on this site are selected based on their quality, relevance to our audience, and alignment with the Forge the Flow philosophy — not based on commission rates or brand relationships.

Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labeled. Affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with FTC guidelines. Neither sponsorship nor affiliate relationships influence our editorial conclusions.

For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

What We Cover and Why

ForgeTheFlow.com covers minimalist strength training, no-gym cardio, mobility, rucking, and longevity-focused fitness practices. We focus on practical methods that work without full gym access, translate to real-world athletic performance, and hold up over a lifetime of training.

We do not cover topics outside this scope simply because they generate search traffic. We publish content we are qualified to write, that serves our specific audience, and that we can stand behind completely.

Corrections Policy

If we publish something that is factually incorrect, we correct it. Corrections are made promptly, noted within the content, and never quietly erased. Accuracy matters more to us than the appearance of infallibility.

If you spot an error, reach out via our Contact page. We take reader feedback seriously and respond to every substantive correction request.
